Edwin Datoc was a restless accountant for eight years in Sydney before making a complicated transition to photographer. Discovering photography has made him more passionate about travel and finds inspiration in cities which boasts dramatic scenery. He has travelled extensively and has been “on the road” since 1997.

Edwin’s career as fashion photographer came about while doing a brief “Black&White” darkroom course in the Australian Center for Photography, Sydney. “I was the worst student in class” he recalls. “I remember agonizing over my first contact sheet. Nothing made sense but eventually I became fascinated with the aesthetics of black & white photography, that I began to spend all my free time in the darkroom”. His original ambition of rising through the corporate ranks slowly faded away while pursuing his growing passion for photography.

Edwin Datoc is an innovator with light and brings a timeless and sensual edge to his pictures. Over the years, Edwin has divided his time in Sydney, New York, Milan, Budapest, Paris, Hong Kong,
London, Manila, Portugal and Germany.
